Guy Allen

Traditional Printmaker

Guy is an innovative British printmaker and draftsman known for his contemporary reinterpretation of traditional etching techniques. Working from his studio on the North Norfolk coast, Guy’s signature approach blends experimental printmaking with vibrant colours, gold leaf, and intricate detail, offering a fresh perspective on a classic and traditional art form.

After studying at Central Saint Martins, Guy’s artistic journey took a pivotal turn during  a six month period studying at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he discovered the printing press. This medium aligned perfectly with his creative vision, he has never looked back.

Growing up in Norfolk, the countryside and his love of animals have had a lasting impact on Guy’s work to date. Wanting to further his inspiration, Guy’s latest project took him out to Tanzania to study the animals in the Sarengeti National Park. Now back in the studio, filled with inspiration, he is preparing a new body of work for an exhibition in London.

“I particularly enjoy wearing the classic fit linen shirts. With their extensive palette of colours to choose from, I always feel happy and comfortable in them, whether at work in the studio, walking the dogs or out for dinner”
